AutoGrid develops and markets services that both help lower costs and improve reliability of the electricity supply chain. This way, they are bringing the power of Big Data, predictive analytics and internet scale computational techniques to the production and consumption of electricity. They serve utilities of all sizes, grid operators, electricity retailers, ESCO services companies, and end-users.

Bidgely

Bidgely offers energy companies cloud-based, real-time applications that their residential customers can access, via the internet or mobile devices. The applications enable customers to better manage their energy usage and compare it with that of similar households in their area. One of its features is energy-saving tips for home electronics, appliances and heating units, which are sent as push notification messages to customers’ mobile devices.

Cuculus

Cuculus provides and operates software solutions for the energy sector and beyond. Our core product, ZONOS, is the basis for customized solutions that we develop in close cooperation with our customers. ZONOS is an IoT Platform for critical infrastructures tailored for the special needs of Smart Metering, Smart City and Smart Gird applications.

Our platform enables to control millions of devices and to process their incoming data. It can be integrated into an existing software landscape due to the large number of interfaces. ZONOS enables the provision of entire service concepts or of single end-customer products and grows with the technical, commercial and procedural requirements of our customers.

Enervee

Enervee provides a dynamic platform on which consumers can make more energy-efficient choices when it comes to household appliances, devices and electronics. Enervee does this via a comprehensive scoring process that constantly compares the efficiency of the product in question with that of all those in the category. This intuitive efficiency score – the Enervee Score – is then combined with other data such as popularity and reviews, enabling consumers to better and more easily choose the products that are best for the home, their wallet and the environment.

Firstfuel

FirstFuel Software is the trusted source for energy intelligence. FirstFuel helps customers deliver scalable energy efficiency through the Remote Building Analytics platform. This platform uses advanced meter data analytics to identify, enable, and track energy efficiency savings behind the meter in commercial buildings – all without onsite visits or device installations. It is designed to be rapidly and cost-effectively deployed across hundreds or thousands of commercial buildings, and therefore FirstFuel changes the scale at which the sector can achieve its energy efficiency goals.

Founded in 2009 and privately held, FirstFuel is headquartered in Lexington, Mass.

Kite Power Solutions

Kite Power Systems develops an airborne wind energy system using kites. Its technology has the potential to transform the global offshore wind generation market as it is cheaper to manufacture and easier to deploy and maintain than conventional wind turbines.  Furthermore, the Kite Power System can produce renewable energy at locations where it is, for economic and technical reasons, not possible today. Examples comprise deep water offshore and power generation in remote locations.

Lumenaza is the software provider for the new, decentralized and digitized energy world. The software can offer virtually all the functions that are needed in the energy market in a modular form as a “utility-in-a-box”. Lumenaza makes it possible to connect and intelligently manage all participants in the new energy world in a single digital marketplace, thereby addressing utilities, new players and producers alike. Lumenaza thus provides a peer-to-peer energy market.

Orcan Energy

Orcan Energy GmbH is a spin-off from Technische Universität München, Germany, and was founded in 2008. Orcan is the global technology leader in small scale modular Organic Rankine Cycle modules (ORCs). Their 20kW ePack technology can use waste heat to generate electricity. Therefore, they considerably increase the efficiency of many industrial sites and distributed electricity generation plants. The modularity of their product combined with their fundamentally different cost structure allows Orcan to disrupt the waste heat recovery market within the next years. Other investors include Kleiner Perkins and Wellington Partners.

Thermondo

Thermondo is a Berlin-based start-up that helps residential customers to get an efficient and environmentally friendly supply of heat. The company enables customers to compare a variety of heating system manufacturers and technologies in a quick, easy and cost-effective way, based on an innovative online platform and an in-house developed IT infrastructure. As a result of this, they can then choose and purchase the system that best fits their needs. The selected unit is installed by certified technicians from Thermondo. The company combines the speed and wide product range of an internet company with the outstanding workmanship of experienced HVAC technicians.
