With an expected increase of around 1.3 million electric vehicles (around 32% of total E.ON electromobility), Westenergie is most affected by the growth in E-Mobility. In total, Westenergie will account for around 680,000 new system connections by 2030 for the connection of charging infrastructure alone. This corresponds to over 11% of all new system connections in the E.ON grid area.Sweden is electrifying – demand for electricity is growing rapidly. The energy transition and the large-scale electrification of industry and the transport sector are underway, and the development is now accelerating.Over the past few years there has been a steadily growing interest in locating facilities with high demand for power (e.g. server rooms, data centers) in the capital city of Warsaw. Tripling the capacity of the Avacon 110 kV grid. The 200 MW output of the first data centre to be connected corresponds approximately to the maximum load of the city of Kassel. In the Czech Republic, our regional company EG.D connected 27,300 new photovoltaics with an installed capacity of approximately 330 MW during 2023, almost three times as much compared to 2022. Over 80% of the connections were made to the low voltage grid. We digitized the processes of applications for connection to the grid and their processing, and offer applicants a tool called a connectivity map, which showes where their capacity in the grid is limited to share information with our customers. Thanks to these steps, we were able to significantly shorten all processes during the year.Industrial bulk consumersIntel is planning to build a chip factory with a final connection capacity of 1,600 MW in four construction phases, which roughly corresponds to the peak load of the city of Hamburg. Together with 50Hertz, Avacon is building a new 380 kV/110 kV/30 kV grid connection point directly at the factory site. Construction of the first construction phase will begin in 2023, with the first production tests with a reduced output scheduled to start in 2024. The full output for the first construction phase should be available in 2025.In March 2026, we connected the two millionth renewable energy plant to our distribution grid and celebrated a milestone of the energy transition. The commissioned wind turbine is located in In Ahlum, between Braunschweig and Wolfenbüttel.E.DIS in Germany anticipates an expected installed wind energy capacity of 15.7 GW by 2030 (around 23% of E.ON's total wind energy capacity). In total, E.DIS will be responsible for around 450 new turbine connections by 2030 for the connection of new wind turbines alone. These connections are predominantly connected at high voltage as high power requirements per connection or wind farm are necessary. In the region of Sollefteå and Kramfors in Sweden we are working on establishing the infrastructure needed to connection four wind parks with a total of almost 600 MW. The infrastructure will be ready during 2025, and when in place, the wind parks can then be connected. The generated power will be enough to supply 182,000 households with electricity.Industrial bulk consumersBattery factory at the VW site in Salzgitter with 160 MW: Due to the new battery cell factory, the grid connection capacity at the VW site in Salzgitter needs to be increased to 160 MW. The connection capacity then roughly corresponds to the peak load of the city of Leverkusen. The situation is similar in Slovakia where we are working on connecting several car and battery manufacturers. In the E.DIS grid area in Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the volume of RE capacity applied for is now over 110 GW, which alone corresponds to around 50% of the German government's expansion target. A RE capacity of 12 GW has already been connected to the E.DIS grid, which corresponds to a maximum consumption load of 2.3 GW. This means that only a proportion of the renewable electricity can be consumed in the region and much of it has to be transported via the grid. In Romania, there was a total of 13,483 photovoltaic installations with a total installed capacity of 106.829 MW connected to Delgaz Grid at the end of 2022.The number of household-scale photovoltaics has multiplied in recent years in Hungary. In the Czech Republic EG. D was the first distributor to launch a calculator for sharing electricity in apartment buildings. In Poland innovation is an important hallmark of Stoen Operator. We are developing new solutions to make it possible for our customers to get information quickly when they plan to install new solutions.
