Awards, ratings and rankings
For years, E.ON has scored well in key sustainability ratings and rankings. We also regularly receive external recognition for our sustainability activities – both regional projects and those with a wider focus. Below, we highlight awards, ratings and rankings that are relevant to our Group as a whole.
Rated Silver Class in the Sustainability Yearbook 2017
In 2017, E.ON was promoted from bronze to silver status. The Sustainability Yearbook includes only the top 15% of companies for each sector, based on RobecoSAM’s annual assessment. E.ON also received the Industry Mover Award 2017, which is presented to the company that ranks among the best 15% in its industrial sector and has shown the biggest improvement from the previous year.
Rated A- in the CDP Leadership Group
In 2017, CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) rated E.ON with an A- as a leading company in the DACH region (German acronym for Germany, Austria, Switzerland) in terms of environmental reporting, and included us in the CDP Leadership Index again. This represents an acknowledgment by CDP of the quality, process and transparency of the data which E.ON publishes in the annual CDP climate change report. The Leadership Index is reserved for the best 10% of the companies reviewed from all industrial sectors. The reporting data provided by E.ON for this purpose was assessed independently. E.ON has published data on carbon emissions (CDP Carbon Response) annually since 2004.
E.ON named in Euronext Vigeo Eiris Indices
In November 2017, E.ON was once again included in the “Euronext Vigeo – Eurozone 120” and the “Euronext Vigeo – Europe 120”. The ‘Euronext Vigeo’ index family by French ESG rating agency Vigeo Eiris lists companies that have achieved outstanding performance in the areas of environment, social and governance. The evaluation is based on up to 330 indicators covering 38 sustainability criteria.
We do not want to promote sustainability only within our company, but also externally. Therefore we are involved in memberships, initiatives and support, amongst others, the United Nations “Global Compact” and the “Sustainable Development Goals“.
