“Dog Christmas” – Smart Holiday Greetings from E.ON
  • Lonesome, but smart dogs use energy solutions to celebrate Christmas together
  • Christmas is saved for the dogs

Christmas has certainly gone to the dogs this year, and E.ON’s newest video shows that even our canine friends can get excited about the holidays. To help make their celebration a bit easier, the company gave them some helpful smart home products to make their celebration a bit brighter.

Just in time for the Christmas holidays, “Dog Christmas” details the story of six lonesome dogs, who are not allowed to celebrate Christmas with their human families, and therefore decide to celebrate the holidays with their friends at all costs.

After the viral success of, “Cat Mansion”, for International Cat Day this past August, E.ON wants to show that dogs are even better at using smart home solutions. Our hero, Benno, knows his way around the smart home system and uses this technology to invite the neighboring dogs and bring them together for a Christmas party.

The video will premiere on December 23rd, 2019 at 7:00 a.m. and can be found on YouTube with this link: https://youtu.be/XLmDiKwF40A.

What’s really unique: the video features a dog’s eye-view into the world of smart home energy solutions and shows how easy they are to use in any home. No matter in which room you are in the house, there are solutions that can help make people’s life easier and which can potentially produce energy savings to the entire household.

The short movie was filmed on site in Berg bei Starnberg, Bavaria by the Darmstadt production company videoboost and animal handler Filmtierhof Elsässer. The film will be broadcast across the E.ON social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. A special Instagram Story will also be available for a short time on https://www.instagram.com/e.on_se/.

“We want to always surprise the fans and followers of our E.ON social channels. In order to do this, we have combined information and entertainment in such a way, that our users learn something new, but still have fun. In, “Dog Christmas”, lonely dogs use smart home solutions in order to come together. The intelligent systems can, naturally, do a lot more and we want to make people curious about what our products can do”, says Carsten Thomsen-Bendixen, Vice President Communications and Corporate Spokesman.

“The fact that we were able to capture the spirit of Christmas for E.ON with the help of our animal actors is a great thing. Just like in the film, we were able to rely on talents who made our unique platform approach so successful. We were happy to win over Nils Keller as director and Georg Nikolaus as Director of photography. Together with Franziska Ganzer as the set designer and many other committed filmmakers, we were able to put together a great video again”, says Moritz Mollenkopf, COO videoboost.
