From an escape cube to a Tesla coil:
E.ON presents the Powergames 2.0 on Facebook Live
- E.ON continues to develop their successful, interactive live format on Facebook with spectacular highlights
- Sarah Lombardi, Verona Pooth and Paul Janke are special guests
- Viewers can actively support teams and influence the outcome of the games in real time
E.ON invites Facebook users to an interactive live game on Saturday, May 4th at 7 p.m. (CEST). Last November, the first edition of the E.ON Powergames had around 7 million viewers during the live show, beating all comparable TV formats that night.
The Powergames 2.0 will use the same concept – but with much more demanding challenges around the topic of energy. Two teams of three celebrities will compete against each other. Last year's winners, “Skating with the Stars” queen and singer Sarah Lombardi, former “Bachelor” Paul Janke and Instagramer Marie von den Benken, will face off against TV star Verona Pooth, “Jungle King” Peter Orloff and former “Bachelorette” finalist Johannes Haller.
In several energy-related challenges from “Light Pong” to an escape cube to a Tesla coil, the participants not only have to have a lot of energy, but also earn the favor of their fans, from whom they will receive boosts or handicaps for the challenges. For example, fans can write comments or type emoticons to support their favorite celebrities. This means, that the audience can influence the course of the program at any time and feel like part of their favorite team.
It's precisely this interactivity with fans, followers and customers that’s at the heart of E.ON’s Facebook Live game. Experience shows that interactivity with a company on the internet is the most important prerequisite for further communication, sustainable interest or even purchasing decisions.
The E.ON Powergames will take place at the Münchner Bavaria Film Studios and will be broadcast live on Facebook. They are produced as elaborately as a big TV show. Between the games, the candidates are interviewed, and an E.ON expert will establish links between the challenges and the real energy world. E.ON is again supported by the Hamburg agency, achtung!.
“We’re not only continuing the successful format of the Powergames, but we’re developing it consistently. With more exciting challenges, even more interactivity and a mixture of good entertainment, excitement and interesting information about energy, we’re moving into the second round. We’re also trying to reach people who are otherwise hardly engaged with energy companies,” emphasizes Carsten Thomsen-Bendixen, Head of Stakeholder Communication and company spokesman.
You can watch the E.ON Powergames live on May 4th at 7 p.m. (CEST) at: www.facebook.com/EON. From all active participants, three winners of an iPhone XR and a Philips Hue Smart Home Starter Kit will be drawn by lottery.
