Another high participation rate for the E.ON scrip dividend
- Participation rate is 33 percent
- E.ON distributes almost 15 million treasury shares to shareholders
As in 2014 and 2015, E.ON SE has this year again given its shareholders the option to partially convert their cash dividend of EUR 0.21 per share into shares of E.ON treasury stock. Until May 26, 2017, shareholders were able to convert 0.15 euros of their dividend entitlement per share. The remaining 0.06 euros will be paid out in cash and , where necessary, be used to cover tax obligations.
E.ON shareholders again took advantage of their option to a significant extent. The participation rate was33 percent compared to 37 percent in 2014 and 2015 respectively. This means that almost 15 million treasury shares will be distributed to shareholders this year. This corresponds to an amount of around EUR 107 million. The remaining cash dividend totaling around EUR 345 million will be paid out and E.ON shares will be delivered on June 7, 2017.
"The positive response shows that our shareholders appreciate the instrument of the scrip dividend. We would like to thank our shareholders for their confidence." said Marc Spieker, CFO of E.ON SE.
