Thies Hansen

Chairman of the Combined Works Council of HanseWerk AG

Mr Thies Hansen, born on 15 November 1970 in Hamburg, Germany, is an industrial mechanic and industrial supervisor.

Since his apprenticeship in 1987, Mr. Hansen has been employed with HanseWerk AG, one of E.ON’s regional utility companies (formerly: Hamburger Gaswerke GmbH). While he worked as a locksmith from 1991 to 2000, Mr. Hansen was elected to the Works Council in 1994. In 1998, he obtained the qualification as an industrial supervisor specialising in the construction and operation of pipeline networks. Since 1997, he has been a member of the Supervisory Boards of HanseWerk AG and its predecessor companies. Between 2000 and 2009, he worked as a technical shift supervisor and project manager in charge of natural gas compressor stations and transmission pipelines. At the end of 2009, he was appointed Director of the natural gas compressor stations and transmission pipelines business, and in 2010, he was elected Chairman of the Central Works Council of Hansewerk AG.

Member of the Supervisory Board of E.ON SE 3since 2015; term will end at the close of the Annual General Meeting in 2018.

Mr. Hansen has extensive practical expertise in the grid business and in-depth knowledge of the technical environment of the energy business. In addition, he has extensive experience in human resources management in the exercise of co-determination rights at works council level.
