Why did you decide to take on a trainee position at E.ON?
As a trainee, I can gain practical experience and get to know different areas of the company at the same time. That's important to me because it's the best way to find out what I'm good at and what I enjoy doing. It also allows me to find out where I want to go later.
I chose E.ON because I liked the job description. It just fit. And my expectations were met: The program is very varied, as I always get to know new departments and topics through the changing assignments.
I can choose my stations and tasks pretty freely and help shape which topics I want to advance. This allows me to get involved in specific areas where I can make a difference and add real value. Basically, everyone here has the opportunity to take on responsibility and openly say what they want to do, which I think is great.
What makes the trainee program at E.ON so special in your eyes?
I learn a lot and meet new, great people. My current station is very international. People from many different nations work together in the team. We speak mostly English and cooperate with E.ON companies abroad. I think that's great. In general, I like the open culture here. I can play a full part here and voice my opinion – the way people treat each other is very appreciative.
There are also various opportunities that round off our training. For example, we exchanged career tips with the HR manager in an information session. In so-called deep dives, departments present the topics they are working on. Training sessions on agile methods or topics such as resilience are also part of the program. I think it's really cool that we have these opportunities.
I'm glad I chose the Trainee.ON program and I'm excited about the time to come.
