Agenda

Our event starts at noon on Thursday at the Oversum Hotel Winterberg where you will meet the other workshop participants and the ECON team. You will also receive initial information about the case study you will be working on as well as a professional consulting training to prepare you for your project.

The first day will conclude with a relaxing evening at a lodge.

After a hearty breakfast, we will reflect together on results and learnings made on the first day. Thereafter, we'll head for the Winterberg slopes to enjoy some fun skiing.

Departure is planned for the early afternoon.

Patrick's success story

What were your key take-aways from the recruiting event this year? I really got to know E.ON Inhouse Consulting, meaning the people, the culture, the kind of projects and E.ON in general. ECON is a top notch consulting firm where people are open and supportive, but also ambitious to go the extra mile. Plus: Working hours allow you to have a social life. On the social side, I got to know likeminded, young talents that were all looking for a career in consulting and exchanging experiences with them was great.

Why did you think (Inhouse) Consulting would be an interesting field to work in, especially with a PhD? I have been thinking about what I like in my PhD (analytical thinking, project work, high level of responsibility) and where I can find this outside of academic research. Specific pros I hoped to find (and did find!) in consulting: Your work really has an impact, you deliver results as a team, adding the non-business point of view in discussions.

Why did you decide to join ECON after participating in the Winter Consulting Olympics? I had interviews with a handful of other firms, but in the end the atmosphere at ECON convinced me. Also, I had the feeling that ECON really wanted me to start here as shown by follow up phone calls and feedback I got.
