Meet the team
I’m Jan and with E.ON and ECON for more than 4 years now. Shortly after graduating in Economics and CEMS MIM from NOVA SBE in Lisbon and Koc GSB in Istanbul, I joined ECON in 2014.
ECON attracted me with the global relevance of the energy industry and its strong positioning as the internal top management consultancy for the E.ON Group. I did never regret joining ECON, especially because I consider all my ECON colleagues more than just people that I work with: they are friends through and through. I’m an avid swimmer and consumer of energy drinks, let me tell you during our event in Lisbon why this is not always a good combination.
I’m Denisa and I joined ECON as a consultant in January 2019 after a great CEMS internship in spring 2018. I studied CEMS International Management at the University of Economics in Prague.
During my CEMS exchange at RSM, I got to know ECON through a skill seminar and was immediately drawn to it as a top inhouse consultancy, both because of the innovative and challenging topics it addresses in today’s dynamic energy world and because of the great, smart, fun people I get to work with. They are true friends and partners in crime for gym, going out or even festivals and travelling.
I’m Uta and joined ECON as a consultant after my CEMS Master’s Degree as a consultant in May 2018. I studied Finance and CEMS International Management at the University of Cologne. During my CEMS exchange in Norway, I got in touch with the dynamic and impactful work in today’s energy industry.
What I really value at ECON are my driven, smart and international colleagues with whom it’s always fun to go out for a beer or organize vegetarian cooking evenings. Outside of work I love to be active outside like going for a run or traveling to places where I can go scuba diving.

CEMS at E.ON Inhouse Consulting Meet Uta, Consultant
Tell us about your CEMS event experience as a student before you joined?
I got to know E.ON Inhouse Consulting (ECON) at a CEMS skill seminar at the University of Cologne. What I really valued was that after we solved an investment case to either go for building up intensively e-mobility infrastructure in Germany or buy an offshore wind park in the UK, we received detailed feedback within our case groups. Also, after the event we had the opportunity to reach out for individual feedback and tips to improve approaching cases. To finish the day we went to a craft beer and chocolate tasting – that was really fun! Fun fact: We have a percentage of over 15% former CEMS students in the ECON team!
How does everyday work as a consultant at ECON look like?
My current project is in the UK. Therefore, I fly in every Monday and fly out every Thursday. That’s important, because I run workshops, discuss the next steps with my key clients or it simply helps to be on the ground to meet an expert for an interview in person over a coffee. On Friday’s I am back on the ECON floor in our headquarter in Essen. This day of the week is usually reserved for internal meetings. For instance, I catch up with my Development Leader, meet up for internal activities (I am part of the CEMS event team and the ECON alumni event team) or have coffee with my colleagues or previous clients.
Why would you recommend other students to join this year’s CEMS Summer Days?
1. You get to know ECON – obviously!
2. Find out what are the “hot” topics in the energy industry – it’s transforming, becoming more and more digital and is an area for innovative as well as sustainable solutions – see for yourself!
3. It will be a really good time in Lisbon with many learning opportunities genuine connections!
