"With ECON I can be an active part of the energy transition and strike out new paths together with the E.ON company.”
Why did you choose to join ECON as a consultant?
I studied economics at the University of Münster with a focus on the energy sector and statistics. I was able to gain international experience during a semester spent abroad at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in India. I made use of the holidays to put my theoretical knowledge into practice. Various internships in the international energy and consulting sectors provided me with valuable experience. That is why joining E.ON Inhouse Consulting was - and still is - just the perfect way to combine all my main areas of focus.
What is your work as a consultant about?
Since joining E.ON Inhouse Consulting in August 2015, I have been entrusted with carrying out a number of multifaceted and extremely exciting projects for a variety of different E.ON companies: From business transformation in a carve-out project to strategy development for the largest group holding to business development for innovative new products. The tasks involved are always of a multilateral nature and demand strong competency in the problem-solving and communications areas and when interacting with the customer. Alongside my daily project work, I also support the Recruiting Team with their university marketing activities - helping them to identify emerging young talents at selected universities.
Tell us about the challenges in your daily project work?
One of the main challenges in the consulting area is to be able to correctly weight and address the many small challenges that arise during the normal project working day without losing sight of the overall project objective. In order to be able to achieve the best-possible results for the customer, it is essential to subject the presumed facts and problems to continual scrutiny and to check that the different project areas are correctly focused. This demands high flexibility levels and the ability to interact with all the involved parties in an extremely professional manner.
What do you like most about your work as an inhouse consultant?
In particular, I enjoy the broad range of strategic and success-critical projects, being the first point of contact for the management team and the chance to work with young, ambitious colleagues in an international environment. The opportunity to enjoy a close and trusting relationship with the customer is the major criterion for working as an inhouse consultant. In most projects, working with the customer is like working with colleagues - without jeopardizing the high standards that we set ourselves. In my role as consultant, I also value the opportunity to be able to cover all the projects associated with the topic of energy.
How do you spend your free time?
I love to spend time with my friends and family. I also use sport (jogging, fitness, squash) as an opportunity to turn off and relax.
