Power from Many Sources
The Global Unit Generation, headquartered in Hanover, Germany, currently operates about 370 steam, gas-CCGT, hydro and Nuclear power plant units throughout Europe at around 300 locations with a total generation capacity of over 60 GW.
Within Europe we steer E.ONs power plant portfolio both functionally and across countries. In doing so, we have arranged our plants in generation types and bundle the Group's power plants into fleets in order to steer our facilities most efficiently.
Our power plant portfolio is one of the largest and most powerful in Europe. With significant generation locations in Germany, the UK, Sweden, Italy, Spain, France and the Benelux countries we are one of the most widely distributed power generators in Europe. In addition, our production portfolio is one of the most balanced in our industry.

E.ON produces power from many sources, primarily from nuclear energy and hard coal, but also from gas, oil and renewable sources. Our highest priority in power production: The energy mix must guarantee a secure supply, be environmentally and climate friendly and remain affordable. And it has to stay that way also in the future.
