Code of Conduct

Following public discussion of the information trips for customers financed by E.ON Ruhrgas, we have revised our groupwide Code of Conduct. Guidelines on the ethical conduct of our employees, especially when it comes to dealing with gifts and invitations, have been clarified. For the first time, the Code of Conduct has been reinforced with specific examples.
New Code
The new Code came into force groupwide at the start of 2007. In several market units some additional rules apply. The position of Integrity Officer was newly-created in 2006 in all market units. Our employees are expressly asked to talk to the relevant Integrity Officer if they are uncertain of any related issue – and this option has so far been used a great deal by some employees.
Important Part of Training
Since 2007, we have been presenting our Code of Conduct to our staff both as part of our induction events for new employees and as part of the training programs of the E.ON Academy. In 2008 we are also launching our own groupwide e-learning scheme, aimed at teaching the Code to 75 percent of E.ON employees with online access. Employees will be issued with a certificate to confirm they have taken part.
