The E.ON brand gains ground in the USA. As of December 1, the management division of the Market Unit US-Midwest goes by the name of E.ON U.S.
Initial steps towards the construction of the planned Baltic Sea gas pipeline are taken in the Siberian town of Babayevo. Gazprom starts construction on a 900-kilometer-long access line that will be connected to an existing pipeline in Vyborg, the future hub for the Baltic Sea pipeline. Project partners Gazprom, BASF and E.ON found a joint venture, the North European Gas Pipeline Company, which will be responsible for the construction and operation of the new pipeline.
