E.ON Benelux acquires the Dutch power and gas company NRE Energie b.v. With roughly 275,000 electricity and gas customers, NRE Energie is the fifth largest energy supplier in the Netherlands. By acquiring this company, E.ON is for the first time becoming involved in sales to end users in the Netherlands. This business supplements its power generation and gas trading activities already existing in that country.

E.ON Ruhrgas is increasing its stake in the Njord gas and oil field in the Norwegian Sea to 30 percent. Njord is an oil and gas field in the Norwegian Sea. It has reserves of approximately 10 billion m³ of gas and about 50 million barrels of oil. The acquisition is subject to approval by the Norwegian authorities.

E.ON is selling Ruhrgas Industries GmbH to CVC Capital Partners, a European private equity firm, for a purchase price of EUR1.5 billion. Completion of the transaction, which is anticipated by the end of August 2005, is contingent on clearance by anti-trust authorities and approval by E.ON supervisory bodies.
