Steuben Wind Project

The proposed Steuben Wind Project is located in the Towns of Hartsville and Hornellsville, in Steuben County, New York. The proposed Project will consist of up to 36 wind turbines, with a total generating capacity of up to 79.5 MW. The Project is anticipated to include 31 turbines in the Town of Hartsville, and up to 5 turbines in the Town of Hornellsville. As currently conceived, the Project will use the General Electric (GE) MTS sle Turbine (or equivalent), which will include a three-bladed rotor, with a diameter of 77-meters (253-foot), mounted on an 80-meter (263-foot) tubular steel tower, for an overall tip height of 389 feet. In addition to the installation of wind turbines, the Project would include the installation of related components and support facilities to deliver power, and operate and maintain the Project including up to approximately 10 linear miles of gravel access roads, up to 25 linear miles of buried 34.5 kV electrical collection (except where physical, environmental and/or economic constraints render it necessary to use overhead lines); a substation adjacent to an existing New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) 115 kilovolt (kV) transmission line; one meteorological tower; a ten-acre construction staging area(s); and an approximately 4,000 square foot single story operations and maintenance (O&M) facility with associated parking.
