Our Employees

Our employees are making a major contribution to our efforts to consolidate and expand our position as one of the world's largest investor-owned power and gas companies. In order to promote employee loyalty and recruit well-qualified, skilled and management staff, we create an exciting, challenging work environment with a variety of continuous education offers as well as attractive terms and conditions.

Effective Measures: E.ON is Awarded in Recognition
As an employer, E.ON is more than ready to take on the competition - and the awards have been impressive. E.ON secured a leading position in "Germany's Top Employers 2008" - a study conducted by the Corporate Research Foundation, one of the leading research companies when it comes to employer branding. E.ON even took 3rd place in the "Market Leadership and Image" category. In addition, the Corporate Center, E.ON Energie and E.ON Ruhrgas jointly participated in 2008 in the competition "Best Workplaces in Europe 2008" conducted by the Great Place to Work® Institute Europe and the "Capital" business publication, achieving 14th place among the top 252 employers. On top of that, E.ON received a special award in the "Health Promotion" category of the national competition "Best Workplaces in Germany 2008". Among the other countries where we operate, E.ON UK is ranked among the top 100 graduate employers in the UK - and E.ON Ceská Republika is even one of the three most desirable employers in the Czech Republic. These are key successes for us and we’re continually working on raising our attractiveness as an employer. For example, we provide our employees with various opportunities to help them balance their work and family lives, as well as the chance to volunteer in one of our employee involvement programs.
Integrating new Employees
One particular challenge we faced in 2008 was incorporating our new market units E.ON Energy Trading, Climate & Renewables, Russia, Italy and Spain into the Group - as well as their employees into our corporate culture and way of working. To meet this challenge, a dedicated team comprising 150 employees from all areas of our company is responsible for integrating new departments into the Group smoothly. These highly experienced E.ON employees were grouped in project teams and assigned to the new locations. Their mission is to help our new employees settle in easier by providing personal support and other forms of assistance such as joint workshops. New employees are also introduced to the E.ON way of working by means of various further training programs.
