Energy and Environmental Education
for Children
We launched our groupwide "Energy for Children" CR program in November 2007 to promote energy and environmental education, particularly among the next generation. This created the first groupwide community involvement (CI) framework for all E.ON market units. With innovative projects, E.ON intends to promote the careful handling of energy and the environment, starting with children - and in doing so, to make an active contribution towards protecting the environment and our natural resources. This reflects the mission statement of the United Nations for creating a sustainable future.
Global Education Initiatives
Initiatives of the "Energy for Children" CI flagship program are now up-and-running in more than ten countries where E.ON is active. As an example, in our "Leuchtpol" lighthouse project in Germany children aged between three and six are already being made aware of how to handle energy and natural resources consciously and responsibly. The design of each individual program is always based on the specific circumstances and educational needs of that particular country. The voluntary commitment of our employees together with project partnerships all complement the specific projects in each country.
