Can Nuclear Power be Part of Climate Protection?
With the threat of climate change looming ever larger, nuclear energy is now seen in many countries as part of the solution, as Nuclear power stations operate essentially emission-free. However, not everybody shares this view. Some people consider the residual risk connected with operating nuclear power stations to be incalculable, and some also believe that the secure storage of highly radioactive waste is impossible in principle. Even if we don't share these views, we are taking these objections very seriously indeed. We appreciate open dialog as an instrument in public opinion formation and are happy to contribute our practical experience. Find out more about our position in the nuclear debate. Get in touch – and let us know your opinion on E.ON's involvement in nuclear energy.
What will Happen to Offshore Wind Energy?
Harnessing offshore wind power offers great potential due to the strong and steady winds often prevalent out to sea. Many energy providers and countries aim to tap into this to significantly increase their share of renewables over the next few decades. Aside from the high potential and expectations, however, there are equally significant challenges to be faced. Offshore wind energy is a highly demanding technology that so far has undergone little testing. For example, the wind turbines used on land cannot simply be installed in the water; rather, new technologies and work processes need to be developed along the entire value chain, from logistics and installation vessels, through seabed foundation and turbine design, to operation and maintenance. A complex interplay between logistics and technology is therefore required; the development of the overall process is still in progress and E.ON is set to play a major role here.

How do you see the future of offshore wind power? We look forward to hearing your opinion!

More and more customers are struggling to pay their monthly energy bills. We're working hard to help our customers save energy and thus to lower their overall costs. We're also engaged in ensuring access for vulnerable customers to affordable energy. How can we further improve our engagement for customers? Let us know!
Doing Enough on Occupational Safety?
Establishing exemplary occupational safety standards is a challenge for any company. In the energy sector, our business area comprises the entire value-adding chain. Our work, including that of our employees and business partners, is a special challenge in that it brings with it inherent risks and potential dangers - every day. We'd be grateful for your opinion on our commitment to occupational safety!
Why does an Energy Company engage in Educational Projects for Children?
In November 2007 we implemented our groupwide CR program Energy for Children (EfC), aimed at supporting the energy and environmental education of the next generation. Let us know what you think about our engagement as an energy company in this area.
