We get the Wheels Spinning – Worldwide

We use the power of the wind across the globe both on land and at sea to generate environmentally friendly energy. In the global growth market for renewable energy, we are already among the top 10 wind power operators worldwide – and we want to grow still further. This objective, and our successes so far, have prompted us to increase our planned investments into renewables to EUR6 billion by 2010.

In Europe and the USA, we operate onshore plants with an installed capacity of over 1500 MW, and our offshore wind farm at Scroby Sands off the English coast can supply up to 33,000 households with energy from its 30 wind turbines. We are also developing Alpha Ventus in Germany, the only wind farm in the world in the open sea. The wind farm is 45 kilometers from the coast off the island of Borkum and is to be constructed in 30m deep water.

In the medium-term, we have committed to making further large-scale investments and to expanding our on and offshore installed capacity to about 4,000 MW.
