In 2005, E.ON Hungaria opened a new chapter in the history of Hungarian sports sponsorship and has now been the Diamond Partner of the Hungarian Olympic Team for 3 years. Olympic values and aims such as striving for peak performance, fairness and endurance as well as dedication and teamwork are also commonplace at E.ON Hungaria.

The volume of the support provided by E.ON in its partnership is unprecedented in the history of the Hungarian Olympic Committee.

E.ON has been supporting Hungarian athletes and their successes at the highest level for many years and from now on it is going to be helping to extend the success story to the Olympic Games.

The E.ON Olympic Team includes successful and popular athletes such as Anita Görbicz, one of the world’s best handball players, Zoltán Szécsi, three-time Olympic champion in water polo, Gárbor Balogh, Olympic silver medalist in Sydney and multiple world champion in the pentathlon as well as Attila Zsivoczky, junior world champion and world championships 2005 bronze medalist in Helsinki in the decathlon.

The Athens 2004 Olympic champion in shooting, Diána Igaly, and the handball player and Sydney 2000 Olympic silver medalist Katalin Pálinger are also training with support from E.ON Hungaria.

Hungary came in 21st on the nations ranking at the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing, tied with Norway.
