We are one team! That is not only the case at E.ON Hungaria but also applies to Západoslovenská energetika. Since 2005 E.ON has been the Olympic partner of the Slovak Olympic Committee and therefore the Slovak Olympic team. Olympic values and goals also play a major role in the company culture of Západoslovenská energetika.

In the course of our close cooperation with the Slovak Olympic Committee we were able to initiate new sports projects in large parts of the Slovak Republic. Promoting sports among children and youths in schools is something particularly close to our hearts. Long-term agreements with a number of organizations involved in promoting both amateur and youth sports in Slovakia have also been concluded to this end.

Like E.ON Hungaria, Západoslovenská energetika supports its own E.ON Olympic Team, which currently consists of four top Slovak athletes, all of which have earned recognition in their disciplines with national and international achievements.

Two members of the E.ON Olympic Team are kayak doubles athletes Martina Kohlová and Ivana Kmetóvá. Thanks to excellent results at international competitions they have been able to establish themselves at the top of their discipline, yet were unfortunately unable to bring home a medal from Beijing.

Canoeist Marián Ostrcil and the Slovak swimming legend Martina Moravcová are also E.ON Olympic Team members supported by Západoslovenská energetika. Martina Moravcová has won more than 60 medals during her career, including two Olympic silver medals in Sydney 2000, and has set three world, 17 European and 194 Slovak records. For her achievements she has been distinguished several times with the title Slovak Athlete of the Year.

Slovakia placed 25th in the medals table at the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing out of more than 200 participating countries, making its participation a huge success.
