Political Dialog

Dialog with the world of politics has a central role in our company, whether on economic, environmental or energy matters. With offices in Brussels and Berlin, we are ideally located near the most important centers of decision making. It enables us to play our part in shaping the guidelines for energy policy – and therefore the basis for our business – with objectivity and foresight. At E.ON we have a specialist department versed in political communication.
The trust of both politicians and society are both of critical importance in the energy industry. This is because legal environmental guidelines like emissions limits are just as critical for our business as cartel law regulations.

 

At the beginning of 2008 a detailed investigation lead the EU Commission to raise allegations of security-seal breaking at our E.ON Energie subsidiary and to impose a fine. E.ON Group and E.ON Energie have completely rejected these allegations and have provided a comprehensive series of reports by independent scientists. E.ON Energie has additionally launched an immediate countersuit against the fine imposed.
