CO2 Capture and Storage

In order to counter the forecasted climate change efforts to capture and securely store carbon dioxide (CO2) from power plants are underway worldwide. Currently, there are three promising processes for capturing CO2 from coal-fired power plants. E.ON is tracking all of these processes which include pre-combustion, post-combustion and oxyfuel firing.

CO2 Can Be Captured
At our own power plant sites, E.ON plans pilot plants for improvements in technologies and srubbing agents that are necessary in order to separate and compress CO2.
