Green Products

All of our energy retail subsidiaries have now developed special tariffs for electricity from wind, hydro, biogas and solar power generation facilities for customers who want to take action themselves to protect the environment and the earth’s climate.
Products Tailored to Different Needs and Markets
E.ON UK's "Go Green" combined electricity and gas tariff was launched in May 2007, with electricity generated from renewable sources and CO2 emissions from gas consumption balanced by investment in sustainable energy projects around the globe. In this E.ON has partnered with ClimateCare, a world-leader in originating and managing emission reduction projects.

E.ON Nordic has introduced a product called "Ditt Energival" ("Your Energy Choice") that enables customers to choose the source of their electricity. The product contains no surcharge for hydroelectricity and only a small surcharge for wind power or for power from generating facilities that are certified green by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation.

E.ON Bayern’s AquaPower, a zero-emission product based on hydroelectricity, is one of Germany’s most economically priced green power products. For a family of three, AquaPower costs only two euros more a month than a standard electricity product.

With E.ON Power Natur, E.ON edis offers business customers electricity from hydroelectric, bio gas, landfill gas and solar sources. Although the electricity generated using these regenerative sources costs slightly more, it gives customers the opportunity to contribute to climate protection and the scheme’s six month contract period means that they are not bound to the tariff in the long-term.

Our retail subsidiary in Germany, E WIE EINFACH (E as in Easy), introduced carbon-offset electricity and natural gas products in early 2008. In this program, E.ON invests in emission-reduction projects around the world at a level that fully offsets the carbon dioxide emissions of customers’ electricity and/or natural gas usage. The natural gas product is the first of its kind to be offered nationwide in Germany.

Business Customers’ Increasing Demand for Green Electricity
Green energy is also of interest to our business customers, as many try to reduce their carbon footprint. We see green energy as a growing market segment and intend to help our customers with our expertise. One example is the U.K.’s EasyGreen product. Here, we match every unit of electricity EasyGreen customers use with a unit generated from renewable sources to put back into the National Grid. In parallel to this, we’ll offset your business’s carbon emissions by working with Climate Care to help fund sustainable energy projects.
