Low-carbon Technology

Nuclear power as an environmentally friendly energy source contributes efficiently to climate protection. Generating electricity from nuclear power is CO2-free. Even if we look at the entire lifecycle from extracting uranium to dismantling power plants, next to water and wind power, nuclear power has the lowest CO2 emissions out of all generation types. In the light of events at the Fukushima I nuclear plant in Japan, the discussion around the use of nuclear power has been revived, particularly in Germany. We fully intend to participate in this debate and, together with society and government on a European level, to re-examine the safety and acceptance of nuclear energy.
