Management changes in E.ON Group
- New Board Members appointed
As part of the challenges the E.ON Group is facing, there will be some significant changes within the management of E.ON Ruhrgas AG (Global Unit Gas), E.ON Energy Trading SE (Global Unit Trading) and E.ON Energie AG (Regional Unit Germany).
In order to better facilitate the coordination of the business, the Board Members of E.ON Energy Trading and E.ON Ruhrgas will in the future hold positions in both these companies simultaneously. To this effect, Klaus Schäfer has been appointed Member of the Board with immediate effect and CEO of E.ON Energy Trading with effect from 1st October 2011 in addition to his role as CEO of E.ON Ruhrgas. Furthermore, Hans-Peter Floren has also been appointed Board Member of E.ON Energy Trading with immediate effect in addition to his role as Board Member of E.ON Ruhrgas, where he is currently responsible for Gas Purchasing. At the same time, Christopher Delbrück, Gareth Griffiths and Egbert Laege, all Board Members of E.ON Energy Trading, will be appointed as Board Members of E.ON Ruhrgas.
Due to the impending changes within the E.ON Group, Dierk Paskert, currently Board Member at E.ON Energie, responsible for the German Grid business, together with the company decided to end their successful cooperation on 31st December 2011 in best mutual agreement.
Dierk Paskert joined the E.ON Group in 1996 and has held a number of different central management roles since then. Before joining the Board of E.ON Energie, he was responsible for Corporate Strategy and Development in Group Management.
Thomas König will succeed Dierk Paskert. Thomas König is currently Board Member of E.ON Ruhrgas, where he is responsible for Finance and holds the role of Labour Relations Director. For a transition period he will hold the board roles at E.ON Ruhrgas and E.ON Energie simultaneously.
In view of the different alignment of personnel policy at E.ON, Hartmut Geldmacher, currently Board Member HR and Labour Relations Director at E.ON Energie AG, will also withdraw from this role in best mutual agreement following a long and successful career at E.ON. He will also resign from his role as Managing Director of E.ON Kraftwerke GmbH. Hartmut Geldmacher joined the E.ON Energie Board in 2002 and has significantly formed the personnel policy of the E.ON Energie Group.
In future, Ingo Luge, CEO of E.ON Energie, will take over the role of Labour Relations Director, in addition to his current role.
The management changes at E.ON Energie and E.ON Ruhrgas are subject to the approval of the responsible supervisory boards.
Bernhard Reutersberg, Board Member of E.ON AG and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of E.ON Energie, said: “We would like to thank Hartmut Geldmacher and Dierk Paskert for their great commitment to the company and the successful contribution they made in their respective function. They both played an active part in the company’s development and we would like to wish them all the best for the future.”
Regardless of any possible structural changes, Ingo Luge, Thomas König as well as Stefan Vogg, who is responsible for Sales, will be responsible for the German activities of the E.ON Group in the future, i.e. sales and grid business as well as decentral generation in Germany.
