Performance Management

Promoting and rewarding performance

E.ON is an organization in which performance is rewarded and the best people advance fastest in their careers. The purpose of this initiative is to improve our current performance and feedback culture and to provide systems, processes and tools to support this development.

The first step will be to develop a performance management vision, i.e. to define what good performance means at E.ON. To understand what good performance means in our employees’ daily life, we will interview a number of senior managers and TEGs across all job families and Market Units in order to include the business perspective of performance in our initiative. As a next step, we intend to operationalize this vision by means of a best-practice performance management model.

We plan to integrate major components of this model into the career development of our managers by the end of the year 2009, and we will support our managers by developing and holding training courses designed to drive performance.
