Boosting the country’s innovation potential requires a differentiated approach. "SACHEN MACHEN" has set three clear objectives which highlight the areas receiving support.
Getting the next generation excited
The first objective is to get the next generation excited about innovation and technology. This centers on getting young people to discover technical professions as an opportunity for their personal development. To do so the initiative aims to make the engineer profession more attractive and also promote women in this area. With competition for qualified engineers mounting, companies need the potential of female engineers.
Promoting innovation
The second objective is to boost innovation potential. This requires cooperation between business and academia to be improved and reinforced, an increase in the number of start-ups as well as promoting the deployment of new technologies.
Strengthening Germany as a base for technology
The third target is to improve the image of technical companies, technical universities and Germany as a base for technology. To accomplish this, a positive impression of engineering sciences is to be established, while the presentation of technical training is to be enhanced.
