Our objective is to get young people interested in technology and innovation so they can shape the future of energy. E.ON is supporting a number of projects which help kids experience the fascination of technology.
Formula Students
At the annual construction competition "Formula Students" E.ON Group is presenting itself to future engineers as an attractive employer in the technology sector at its information booths. The innovative competition enhances technical studies by offering rich experience from all disciplines involved in automotive production. Student teams build one-seater Formula race cars and compete against teams from around the world. Victory is not awarded to the fastest car, but to the best package of construction, racing performance, financial planning and selling points.

"I think it’s a great idea to have interesting employer presentations at Formula Students in addition to the racing teams. Besides enjoying the racing cars you can also find out about career entry opportunities in the industrial sector."

Course for student newspapers
If technology-related issues are to receive broader coverage in the media we have to speak to media makers. This is the objective of the "Course for student newspaper editorial teams," which the initiative SACHEN MACHEN launched. From fall 2007 E.ON is going to be giving editorial teams of student newspapers the opportunity to experience the energy business "live" and peek behind the scenes of a technology company. This measure is to instill lasting excitement about technical issues in rookie journalists.

Youth technology internet portal
The youth technology internet portal initiated by SACHEN MACHEN exposes youngsters to the field of technology even before they have to choose their future profession. Tomorrow’s engineers have access to extensive information about exciting projects and innovation in the technology sector, can view company profiles and look into possible professions. The portal is also to promote stronger ties between schools and universities and therefore facilitates school sponsorship, internships, guided tours around companies, etc.
