2. Annual Meeting of the

On 14 January 2008, the partners involved in the initiative SACHEN MACHEN convened for their second annual meeting in Düsseldorf. As a premium partner of the technology initiative E.ON hosted this year’s event. After the opening speech by E.ON HR Officer Christoph Dänzer Vanotti, Dr. Willi Fuchs, Chairman of the initiative and the Director of VDI, drew his conclusions on two years of SACHEN MACHEN.

 

The following panel discussion was dedicated to the subject "Technology base Germany – Challenges and opportunities". Panel members were Bernhard Fischer, Member of the Management Board of E.ON Energie, Professor Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology of the State of North-Rhine Westphalia, Professor Dr.-Ing. Joachim Milberg, President of the technology academy acatech – Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaft, as well as Professor Dr.-Ing. Habil Bruno O. Braun, Chairman of the Management Board of TÜV Rheinland and the President of VDI.

 

Just like last year, awarding the Best Practice Award in the categories "Getting the next generation excited" and "Promoting innovation" were on the agenda again.
