Employability

Demographic changes mean that employees will have to work longer in the future. As a result, the average age of the workforce will rise. Maintaining employability is thus becoming ever more important. As a result, we have established "employability" and "demographics / HR planning" as two strategic fields of action in our groupwide People strategy "OneHR". In this regard, the E.ON Academy is consistently developing groupwide training programs and new educational methods.
The "Demographic Change" Study Group
Our market and business units are increasingly getting ready to face these coming developments. E.ON Avacon, for instance, has had a "Demographic Change" study group in place since 2006. Several measures aimed at retaining employability have already been initiated – in development planning, expertise transfer and healthcare. Workshops and seminars are promoting the exchange of knowledge, a large digitized information memory was developed for the intranet and healthcare measures were expanded. Plans call for teams of mixed ages to be formed in the future in order to enhance communication between generations, offer perspectives for a longer working life and promote job rotation.
