museum kunst palast in Düsseldorf
On the way to E.ON AG in Düsseldorf, many visitors inevitably end up at the entrance of the traditional museum kunst palast on the Düsseldorf Ehrenhof. No wonder - the E.ON center is located in the immediate vicinity of the museum. In a cultural public-private partnership model that is unparalleled in Germany, the company facilitated and participated in the revival of the Kunstpalast originally constructed in 1902. The "Stiftung museum kunst palast" (museum foundation) was founded in 1998 in conjunction with the city of Düsseldorf. After extensive modifications and renovations, the new 'museum kunst palast' was opened with the first grand exhibition "Altars - art that brings you to your knees" in the year 2001. Ever since the foundation was established, E.ON has been a long-term, reliable cultural partner for the city of Düsseldorf and the museum kunst palast. Through its involvement, E.ON makes an essential contribution to secure the ongoing operations of the museum. This partnership primarily planned for ten years will be extended for another five years up to and including 2014. In addition, E.ON also facilitates top-class, varied exhibitions in the museum kunst palast which have delighted not only the customers, business partners, and employees of E.ON, but also many visitors from all over Germany and from abroad.
An advantage for the employees
Employees at E.ON AG have privileged access to art and culture. They receive free entry to the museum kunst palast for themselves and one attendance invited to exclusive tours, meaning they can always be among the first people to visit exhibitions. This gives E.ON's employees a special relationship to arts, and many of them are now regular visitors to the museum.
