Our Business: Nordic

Headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, our main focus is on wind generation, both on- and offshore, with the aim to bring renewable energy from boutique to industrial scale for the Nordic market.

One of E.ON Climate & Renewables' largest offshore projects to date, Rödsand II, in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Denmark started operation in 2010. The wind farm situated 4km from shore in water 10m deep and has 90 turbines, give it an installed capacity 207 MW. With perfect offshore conditions of high wind yield, closeness to shore, shallow waters and good soil conditions, Rödsand II's annual production amounts to 800 GWh, supplying 200,000 Danish homes with sustainable electricity.

E.ON currently operates six onshore wind farms in Sweden and one offshore wind farm in Denmark. Further, we are analyzing the possibility of constructing new offshore wind farms in Sweden as well as the possibilities of constructing additional offshore wind farms in Denmark and to expand our onshore wind portfolio in Norway.

E.ON will build its next offshore wind farm Karehamn in the Baltic Sea east of Öland. After completion, Karehamn will have an installed capacity of 48 MW and supply over 50,000 Swedish households with electricity.

At present, EC&R Nordic undertakes investments of SEK 2 billion in 2011 and 2012.
