E.ON and the Fine Arts

E.ON's extensive art collection has been developed over years. In the beginning, E.ON concentrated exclusively on paintings, including works by Jackson Pollock, Agnes Martin, Ellsworth Kelly, Helmut Federle, Bernard Frize, Alfred Jensen, and Jerry Zeniuk.

The large number of loan queries we receive from museums all over Europe is testimony to the quality of our collection. Düsseldorf's museum kunst palast is also currently displaying several of our works.

Since relocating E.ON AG to the new building adjacent to the museum kunst palast, E.ON has diversified its collection into photography. The public area features photographic works i.e. by Balthasar Burkhard, Andreas Gursky, Shirin Neshat, Beat Streuli and Massimo Vitali.

For several years, E.ON has also had a new-media collection, consisting of several works such as by video artist Nam June Paik. This collection has been expanded in July 2003, and is now home to "Living Witness (The Shortest Distance Between Two Points)", a work by Bill Viola, specially commissioned by E.ON.

Further highlights of the collection are paintings by Hubert Scheibl and objects by Tony Cragg. Located in the entry area of E.ON s Corporate Center, these works are open to the public.
