Power and Emissions Trading
Backed by an asset base that includes about 60 GW of generating capacity, E.ON is one of the largest players in the European wholesale electricity trading markets.
The centralized power trading teams of our Trading global unit benefit from a single, integrated view of all markets and assets, improving their ability to optimize E.ON's broad and diverse European portfolio. Supported by highly-skilled teams with cross-market and cross-commodity expertise, they are well-positioned to understand the dynamics of power and gas convergence and trade products such as dark spreads, spark spreads and regional spreads in power.
E.ON also has one of Europe's leading carbon emissions trading desks, which in turn helps it meet its compliance obligations within the European Union's Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS).
In addition, E.ON is active in US carbon and power trading markets, partly in support of its North American renewable energies activities.
