E.ON Takes Environmentally Friendly Power to the Streets

E.ON is promoting the market launch of electric vehicles on the strength of a series of projects and activities. We intend to capitalize on the use of electricity to help make transport cleaner and less dependent on fossil fuel. The more vehicles are powered by electricity, the less modern transport will fully depend on oil.

This is why we are addressing all major aspects-from the environmentally friendly generation of the required electricity to the convenient "filling" of vehicles with electric power.

Electric cars are low-carbon vehicles. Calculations based on E.ON's fleet already have them emitting a mere 30 to 90 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer. This is much lower than the 120g/km limit imposed by the European Union for 2012.

We are investing billions of euros in our power stations with a view to reducing these figures in the years ahead. Electric cars are envisaged to produce just 60 grams of calculative carbon dioxide emissions per kilometer.
