Gas Heat Pumps -

Efficient CO2 Savers for Residential Use

In times of climate change and rising energy costs, it is our task to devise and implement new technological solutions for eco-friendly and resource-saving energy supplies in all energy sectors. This also applies to residential heat supplies which include hot water production and space heating.
Here gas heat pump technology offers a promising system for climate-friendly heating technology. It meets two main requirements of current energy policy at once: a higher share of renewable energies in energy supplies and more efficient heat generation. Compared with conventional heating systems, gas heat pumps can cut energy consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 30 per cent with no loss in performance. As one element of our climate protection strategy, the gas heat pump therefore also helps to save energy resources with its high efficiency.

In order to exploit the high potential of gas heat pump technology and drive its development forward to market launch, E.ON has established the "Gas Heat Pump Initiative" together with other energy suppliers and appliance manufacturers. By conducting comprehensive laboratory and field trials, we want to make this technology ready for series production very soon.
The principle of refrigerators, but in reverse - the energy in water, the ground, the sun or the air is converted into heat.
