E.ON Carbon Sourcing is responsible for primary market activities - that is, buying carbon certificates (CERs/ERUs) directly from owners of certified emission reduction projects on a non guaranteed basis or generating them through their own project development activities.
Meanwhile, E.ON Energy Trading is responsible for trading European emission allowances (EUAs) as part of the Emissions Trading Scheme and wholesale trading of CERs and ERUs on the secondary market, as well as trading in electricity, natural gas, coal, oil, freight and biomass.
