On November 30, 2014, the E.ON SE Supervisory Board unanimously approved a new group strategy for E.ON: “Empowering customers. Shaping markets”. As part of this strategy E.ON combined its conventional generation and global energy trading businesses into a distinct company. Since January 1, 2016 this company is active under the name of Uniper as a wholly-owned subsidiary of E.ON. E.ON plans to spin off the majority of Uniper to E.ON’s shareholders in the second half of 2016. You can find further information on E.ON’s strategy here.
