The E.ON Energy Mix: It’s the Mixture that Makes it Work!
For the security of supply as well as for economical reasons it is important to keep a broad energy mix. This energy mix ideally consists of renewables combined with conventional energies.
In 2012 the E.ON Group owned generation capacity of almost 68 GW.
E.ON is one of the world's most geographically diversified power producers, with major asset positions in Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Russia, the U.S., Italy, Spain, France and in the Benelux countries.
In addition, we possess one of the most diverse and well-balanced generation portfolios in our sector. Of our total attributable generation capacity at year-end 2012, more than 30 GW was gas- and oil-fired, almost 19 GW coal-fired, over 8 GW nuclear, around 5,3 GW hydro and around 4,8 GW wind and other renewables such as solar energy and bio energy.
