Changes in the Powergen Board

Integration process is nearly completed

Just more than a year after E.ON’s acquisition of UK energy supplier, Powergen, the integration process is nearly completed. In this context, the Board of Powergen has changed as of 18 July 2003: Ed Wallis, currently deputy chairman and chief executive officer (CEO), Hans Michael Gaul, Hans-Dieter Harig, Frank Elsässer, Tom Oates and Peter Wilson leave the Board.

Members continuing on the Powergen board are: Wulf H. Bernotat, who serves as chairman, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Michael Söhlke, Powergen UK CEO Paul Golby and LG&E Energy CEO Victor A. Staffieri.

Bernotat thanked those members leaving the Board for their contribution to the successful integration of Powergen into the E.ON Group. Ed Wallis has been the guiding force in the company’s development since 1989. It was in this period that Powergen transformed itself from a government-owned generating company to a leading privately held energy supplier in the liberalized UK energy market. Wallis will remain a member of the E.ON Energie Supervisory Board until the end of 2003.
